BiH Court sentences organised crime figure Darko Elez to 15 years in prison

Bosnia’s state court sentenced Darko Elez, who was extradited from Serbia earlier this year, to 15 years in prison after he pled guilty to a series of serious crimes, including murder, attempted murder, robbery other crimes committed between 2005 and 2009.

According to the Prosecutor’s Office, Elez gave up his right to appeal the verdict based on his confession and agreed to cooperate with the prosecutorial institutions of BiH and Serbia in clarifying other serious crimes.

“In accordance with the agreement, the accused will be deprived of illegal proceeds of crime,” the statement said.

Elez was extradited from Serbia earlier this year.
